Hailing originally from the East Bay Area, Sofie Mae left home as a teenager to travel across the country by way of thumb or freight train. All along the way she played music wherever her feet carried her. Soon music carried her to the city of New Orleans. This city inspired her to dedicate her life to her musicianship. She spent years traveling around the country making a living as a street musician.
Some of her favorite musical influences include, Ella Fitagerald, Prince, Sam Cooke, and D’Angelo. With a voice to melt your heart, she’ll have you captivated by the magical music making experience, full of soulful melodies and jazzy runs. Eventually making her way back to Oakland, CA, where is she is now based, she performs regularly with her band. They are currently working on some brand new material for your listening pleasure. <3
